Many people today are struggling financially. They work hard, take loans, hustle day and night but see little to no progress. Maybe you’ve been there too. At some point, you realize that working harder doesn’t always guarantee financial success.
But here’s the good news: you can make a quantum leap a dramatic, exponential shift in your finances if you apply the right strategies. Not small increments like moving from GHS 1,000 to GHS 1,200 a month, but radical progress that could double, triple, or even 10x your results.
Based on my own journey from financial struggle to financial freedom, here are the five steps you can apply to change your life.
Step 1: Do Something Different
If you’ve been doing the same thing for years and not seeing progress, chances are it’s your strategy that’s broken not your goal.
For example:
If your goal is to sell, but your sales method isn’t working, don’t give up on the goal. Change the strategy.
If your goal is financial freedom, and “trying harder” hasn’t worked, then it’s time to shift methods.
Remember: unconventional success requires unconventional strategies.
Step 2: Read Financial Freedom Books
Your breakthrough is hidden in ideas, and ideas come from learning. Everything we see today existed first as an idea. Without new knowledge, you’ll be stuck recycling old thinking.
Ask yourself honestly: How many books have you read this year?
If the answer is “none,” then your financial growth will remain limited. Start with financial freedom and personal development books. Choose books that answer your current struggles and keep you engaged. When you read, you gain fresh perspectives, expand your thinking, and discover new ways to create wealth.
Step 3: Develop a New Skill or Product
There are only two ways to make money:
Offer a skill as a service.
Sell a product.
If you rely only on a salary, or worse have no income at all you’re limiting your potential. Until you learn a valuable skill or develop/sell a product, you cannot make meaningful financial progress.
The internet has made it easier than ever to learn. Instead of spending all your free hours on gossip, comedy, or endless scrolling, dedicate time to learning income-producing skills or finding a product to sell.
Step 4: Build Unshakable Discipline
Discipline is the dividing line between dreams and results. Every successful person you admire has mastered discipline in one area or another.
Personally, I’ve built habits that many people find tough, such as:
Reading at least four books every month since 2018.
Maintaining a daily rest routine that allows me to work with renewed energy.
Discipline may not be glamorous, but it multiplies your results. Whether it’s sticking to a reading plan, practicing a skill daily, or saving consistently. Discipline is the bridge to your financial goals.
Step 5: Develop New Habits
Your habits shape your future. If you build habits that align with success—reading, saving, learning, and working strategically you’ll gradually rise above the average.
A simple example: if you commit to learning one skill this year, reading 12 books, and practicing financial discipline, you’ll be a completely different person by this time next year.
Your transformation doesn’t come overnight, it comes from small, consistent actions that compound over time.
Inconclusion,
If you apply these five steps:
Do something different
Read financial freedom books
Develop a new skill or product
Build discipline
Form success habits
You’ll not only break out of financial struggle but also experience radical progress that most people only dream of.
Don’t just try harder. Try smarter.
