How to Get the Cheapest MTN Internet Bundle in Ghana (₵1.86 per GB)

Data is expensive in Ghana and if you’re someone who uses the internet every day for streaming, working online or running a business. You know exactly how quickly bundles finish. I used to spend nearly ₵270 a month on data until I discovered a smarter way to buy MTN internet bundles. Today, I’m going to show you the simplest and cheapest method to get MTN data for as low as ₵1.86 per GB.

This is not a trick. It’s a legit option hidden inside MTN’s system and once you know it, you’ll save hundreds of cedis every year.

Step 1: Dial *138# for the MTN Bundle Portal

On your phone, dial *138#.

Select Option 1 – Buy Data Bundle.

Choose Option 1 – Buy for Yourself (or another number if you’re buying for someone else).

Select Option 1 – Any Amount (Flexi Bundles).

Step 2: Choose the ₵399 Bundle

From the menu, enter 399 as the amount.

MTN will offer you 214.53GB of data for ₵399.

The best part? This bundle does not expire. You can use it for months until it finishes.

For context: if you normally buy ₵3 worth of data daily, you’re spending ₵90 per month for just 12GB. Some people even spend ₵9 a day (₵270 per month). This ₵399 option can last 4–6 months, saving you serious money.

Step 3: Pay via Mobile Money (MoMo)

After selecting the bundle, choose Option 2 – Mobile Money.

Authorize the prompt, and within seconds, your data bundle will be active.

Step 4: Use the MTN App for Bonus Data

If you want extra data on top of the ₵399 bundle, download the MyMTN App:

Open the app and select Buy Data.

Choose the ₵399 for 214GB option.

Pay with Mobile Money.

You’ll automatically receive a 50% bonus (4G bonus).

That means you’ll get over 320GB of data in total—at the same ₵399 cost. The bonus may expire in 7 days, but the main 214GB remains valid until you finish it, no matter how long it takes.

Why This Is the Best Option

Cheapest MTN bundle (₵1.86 per GB).
Non-expiring data (use it for months).
Stronger and more reliable than regular daily bundles.
Saves you hundreds of cedis yearly.

I’ve personally been using this method for months. Despite being a heavy internet user (running ads, creating YouTube videos, and doing client work), my data lasts 4–5 months on average.

If you’re tired of wasting money on small daily bundles, this is the smartest switch you can make today.
