If you’ve ever opened WhatsApp Business and seen the dreaded message “This account can no longer use WhatsApp”, you know how frustrating it feels especially if your business depends on it. I’ve been there myself. My account was suspended, I appealed and thankfully, I got it reinstated.
In this article, I’ll share exactly how I did it so you can also appeal and get your account back. I’ll also explain what to do if your appeal gets rejected and why you should avoid common mistakes that lead to permanent suspensions.
Why WhatsApp Suspends Accounts
From my experience and careful review of WhatsApp’s policies, here are the major reasons why accounts get suspended:
Sending mass messages through broadcast lists
Adding people to groups without their consent
Messaging people who don’t have your contact saved
Sharing spammy links or content repeatedly
Receiving too many reports from other users
Note: Sometimes, suspensions happen by mistake. That’s why appealing correctly is critical.
Step-by-Step Guide to Appeal Your WhatsApp Suspension
Here’s the exact process I followed to get my account back:
- Request a Review
Open WhatsApp and tap on Request Review.
- Write a Clear Appeal Message
Use polite, professional language. For example:
“Dear WhatsApp, my account was banned unfairly. I have carefully reviewed your policies and strongly believe my account was mistakenly flagged. My business has been greatly affected, and I kindly request a manual review. Thank you.”
Include your name and the phone number linked to your suspended account.
- Submit the Appeal
Once submitted, you’ll see a confirmation screen.
- Wait for a Response
WhatsApp usually responds within 24 hours (I got a reply in less than 15 hours).
- Verify Your Account
If your appeal is successful, WhatsApp will ask you to verify your number.
Enter your phone number, receive the verification code, confirm it, and you’ll be able to re-initialize your account.
What If WhatsApp Rejects Your Appeal?
Sometimes, after reviewing your case, WhatsApp may still decide that your account violated their policies. If that happens, you’ll see a message like:
“We have completed our review and found that this account can no longer use WhatsApp.”
Here’s the good news: this doesn’t mean the end of your account forever.
From my personal experience:
One of my accounts was reinstated immediately after appeal.
Another account was not reinstated, but after waiting 60 days (2 months), I was able to register and use it again.
Lesson: Even if your appeal is rejected, don’t panic. After 60 days, you can often re-register and restore access.
inconclusion,

WhatsApp may suspend your business account for violating its policies such as sending bulk messages, adding people to groups without consent, sharing spam links, or receiving multiple user reports. Sometimes, suspensions occur by mistake when WhatsApp’s system flags unusual activity. That’s why submitting an appeal is important.
To appeal your suspension, open WhatsApp Business and tap “Request a Review.” Then, write a polite appeal message explaining that you believe your account was suspended in error. Include your full name and phone number linked to the account. WhatsApp typically responds within 24 hours, and if approved, you’ll receive instructions to verify and restore your account.
Most users receive a response from WhatsApp within 12 to 24 hours after submitting an appeal. In some cases, reviews may take up to 48 hours depending on support volume. Be patient and check your registered email for updates from WhatsApp’s support team.
If WhatsApp rejects your appeal, you’ll receive a message stating that your account can no longer use the platform. However, this is not always permanent. Many users can re-register the same number after 60 days and regain access. During this period, avoid violating WhatsApp policies to improve your chances of reinstatement.
Only message contacts who have saved your number.
Do not send spam or promotional links repeatedly.
Avoid using unauthorized third-party WhatsApp tools.
Respect user privacy and WhatsApp’s Terms of Service.
Following these rules helps maintain your business credibility and keeps your account safe.
