Step 1: Dial the Registration Code
To access the new DSTV offers:
Dial *389*5# on your phone.
This works for subscribers who are already registered with DSTV. If you’re a new user, you’ll first need to purchase the DSTV dish and have it installed at an accredited office before you can register.
Step 2: Select Upgrade or Downgrade
Once you dial the code, you’ll see several options:
- Pay the amount due
- Deal options
- Upgrade or downgrade (choose this)
Select option 3: upgrade/downgrade.
Step 3: Add Your Profile
You’ll be prompted to add your profile by entering your IUC (smartcard) number.
- Enter the number
- Confirm your name
- Choose whether to save your details for next time
Step 4: Choose Your Package
Here’s where the savings come in. The new system allows you to downgrade to a lower plan while still enjoying the value of the higher plan you were originally on.
For example:
- If you were on Access (GHS 99) → Now you’ll get Family (GHS 190) value.
- If you were on Family (GHS 190) → Downgrade to Access (GHS 99) and still enjoy Family’s value.
- If you were on Compact (GHS 380) → Switch to Family (GHS 190) and still get Compact’s value.
- If you were on Compact Plus (GHS 570) → Switch to Compact (GHS 380) and still enjoy Compact Plus value.
- If you were on Premium (GHS 865) → Switch to Compact Plus (GHS 570) and still enjoy Premium value.
This means:
You save money each month
You keep the same viewing value
You enjoy relief of up to 300 GHS per month
