If you’ve been thinking about joining any of the Ghana Security Services — Immigration, Police, Fire Service, or Prisons — the recruitment portal is finally open, and today I’m going to walk you through the simplest step-by-step process to apply successfully.
No confusion. No guesswork. Just follow exactly what I show you.
Let’s dive in.
Step 1: Go to the Official Recruitment Portal
The portal you’re supposed to use is called the Centralized Services Electronic Recruitment Portal (CSERP).
Just type “CSERP Ghana” into Google and click the official link or go to c-serpgh.
Once it loads, you’ll see an interface containing options for:
- Ghana Police Service
- Ghana Immigration Service
- Ghana National Fire Service
- Ghana Prisons Service
All the security institutions now use this one centralized portal for recruitment — so don’t let anyone mislead you.
Step 2: Click “Start Your Application”
When the portal opens, hit the button that says:
Start Your Application
You’ll get three options:
- Start a new application
- Continue or track an old application
- Submit another application
If this is your first time, choose Start New Application.
Step 3: Enter Your Email, Phone Number, Serial Number & PIN
This is where many applicants make mistakes — so pay attention.
You will need:
- A valid active email address
- Your working phone number
- Your Serial Number
- Your PIN
If you already purchased your form, the serial and PIN should be on it.
If you haven’t bought a form yet:
Dial this shortcode on any network:
*713*03#
Follow the prompts to make payment.
Right after payment, your PIN and Serial Number will be sent to your phone.
You can also buy it from any Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) branch.
VERY IMPORTANT:
- Use an email you can log into (you’ll need it for OTPs and correspondence)
- Use a registered phone number you can easily replace if you lose your SIM
- Enter the details accurately — small mistakes can cost you your entire application
Step 4: Select the Security Service You Want to Apply For
After entering your details, the system takes you to a page where you choose which institution you want.
You can choose:
- Police
- Fire Service
- Prisons Service
- Immigration Service
For example, when I was applying for my brother, I chose Ghana Immigration Service. You can choose whichever one you are targeting.
Step 5: Read the Entry Requirements Carefully
Each service has its own minimum requirements. Generally, you must:
✔️ Be a Ghanaian
✔️ Be at least 18 years old
✔️ Have at least 5 credits in WASSCE (including English & Maths)
✔️ Be physically fit
✔️ Have no criminal record
✔️ Meet the height and age requirements
Don’t skip this part. Make sure you qualify before proceeding.
Step 6: Fill in Your Bio Data Correctly
You’ll now be asked to enter your personal details:
- Full name
- Age
- Weight
- Height
- Gender
- Marital status
- Ghana Card number
- GPS digital address
- Hometown and region
- Profile photo
Whatever you enter should match your ID documents. No spelling mistakes. No wrong dates.
This part determines whether you get shortlisted or not.
Step 7: Specify the Vacancy Type
Here, you indicate:
- The region where you want to do your screening
- The category (General Duties, Tradesmen, Drivers, etc.)
- Your qualification level (WASSCE, Diploma, Degree)
Choose the one that fits your background.
Step 8: Enter Your Educational Background
This section covers:
- Primary school details
- Junior high details
- WASSCE details
- Index number
- Year of completion
- Subjects and grades
Enter them correctly as they appear on your certificate.
Once you’re done, review everything and submit.
In conclusion,
Applying for the Ghana Security Services recruitment is simple if you follow the right steps — and now you know exactly what to do from start to finish.
